Revelation 17

And there came one of the seven angels which had the seven vials, and talked with me, saying unto me, Come hither; I will show unto thee the judgment of the great whore that sitteth upon many waters: With whom the kings of the earth have committed fornication, and the inhabitants of the earth have been made drunk with the wine of her fornication.
So he carried me away in the spirit into the wilderness: and I saw a woman sit upon a scarlet coloured beast, full of names of blasphemy, having seven heads and ten horns. And the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls, having a golden cup in her hand full of abominations and filthiness of her fornication: And upon her forehead was a name written, MYSTERY, BABYLON THE GREAT, THE MOTHER OF HARLOTS AND ABOMINATIONS OF THE EARTH.
And I saw the woman drunken with the blood of the saints, and with the blood of the martyrs of Jesus: and when I saw her, I wondered with great admiration. And the angel said unto me, Wherefore didst thou marvel? I will tell thee the mystery of the woman, and of the beast that carrieth her, which hath the seven heads and ten horns. The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
And here is the mind which hath wisdom. The seven heads are seven mountains, on which the woman sitteth. And there are seven kings: five are fallen, and one is, and the other is not yet come; and when he cometh, he must continue a short space. And the beast that was, and is not, even he is the eighth, and is of the seven, and goeth into perdition.
And the ten horns which thou sawest are ten kings, which have received no kingdom as yet; but receive power as kings one hour with the beast. These have one mind, and shall give their power and strength unto the beast. These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
And he saith unto me, The waters which thou sawest, where the whore sitteth, are peoples, and multitudes, and nations, and tongues. And the ten horns which thou sawest upon the beast, these shall hate the whore, and shall make her desolate and naked, and shall eat her flesh, and burn her with fire.
For God hath put in their hearts to fulfil his will, and to agree, and give their kingdom unto the beast, until the words of God shall be fulfilled. And the woman which thou sawest is that great city, which reigneth over the kings of the earth.

I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the preeminence among them, receiveth us not.  Wherefore, if I come, I will remember his deeds which he doeth, prating against us with malicious words: and not content therewith, neither doth he himself receive the brethren, and forbiddeth them that would, and casteth them out of the church.  Beloved, follow not that which is evil, but that which is good. He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God. 3 John 1:9-11

After watching a program on methamphetamines, how they were made (generally) and what affect they have on the human body and nervous system, I became interested in knowing more about the neurotransmitter dopamine.  Dopamine is a chemical which the body naturally synthesizes to transmit messages of pleasure from the nerve endings to the midbrain. The midbrain then synthesizes the neurotransmitter dopamine to activate other parts of the]  brain in an effort to find what caused the pleasure, to record it, and if necessary to figure out how to continue, restore, or create the environment which caused the pleasure.  Our body naturally loves the effect of dopamine.  It seeks after the conditions which trigger its release in the body.  Most drugs of habit are related in some way to affecting dopamine production, replacement, or inhibition (reuptake.)

Any time we touch, taste, smell, see, hear, and then think about something which activates the neurons of pleasure, dopamine is used to convey this message to the brain which then seeks to continue the state of pleasure.  The body in essence has a mind of its own to seek pleasure.

''And he said unto them, Ye are they which justify yourselves before men; but God knoweth your hearts: for that which is highly esteemed among men is abomination in the sight of God." Luke 16: 15

After studying this system of the body it has become apparent the effect this chemical (the neurotransmitter dopamine) has had on the history of man.  Eve's desire to touch the tree (dopamine), Adams desire to listen to Eve (dopamine), Esau giving up his birthright for food (dopamine), the ten spies, David and Bathsheba, etc are only a few examples we find in the Bible  the effect this chemical (the love of it's effect upon the brain) has had upon our lives. Self loves pleasure.  Instead of hearing self control, self discipline, humble yourself, deny yourself today we here of "self esteem."  Self-esteem (love of dopamine) always comes from group-esteem (group respect-love of the respect of men).  God is not a respecter of persons. Consensus is group dopamine―orgy, love fest, worship of man, social Eros, etc.  All that is of the world is dopamine producing, flesh, eyes, and pride―Maslow's Heritance of "felt" needs
Every time God sends his sober (non-dopamine addicted) man to speak for him he prepares him in a non-dopamine activating environment, and sends him into a dopamine addicted environment which more often then not resulted in his message of repentance and restraint being rejection, a non-dopamine producing moment. It is a grievous (non-dopamine moment) to know the truth and to share it to someone whom you love who refuses to accept it because it might interfere with their dopamine seeking desire.  Jesus was acquainted with grief.

He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.  Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.  But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.  All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.  He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.  He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken. And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.  Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.  He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Isaiah 53:3-11

There is nothing wrong with dopamine, it serves its God created purpose, but when we seek it above the lords command, we let the body control us (id, impulse, natural desires, etc.) and we fall into and become slaves to sin. The dialectical process is discourse (which we all do with ourselves or others) in an effort to create a dopamine producing world. Call it by group think, love fest, love of love, consensus, globalism, world peace, Emerging church, Church Growth or any other name, it is simply the love of pleasure. It can even be disguised as the love of Godexperiencing God―"love that feeling."

Reward and punishment—Pleasure and pain.

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse; a blessing, if ye obey the commandments of the LORD your God, which I command you this day: and a curse, if ye will not obey the commandments of the LORD your God, but turn aside out of the way which I command you this day, to go after other gods, which ye have not known. Deuteronomy 11:26-28

The brain has two major tracks which set behavior into motion, they are the circuit of reward and the circuit of punishment. That part of the brain called the medial forebrain bundle (MFB) cycles desire/action/satisfactionreward, and the periventricular system (PVS) triggers "fight or flight"―punishment. Both motivate behavior  to restore a sense of equilibrium (homeostasis) where pleasure is the desired outcome. At first any encounter with the world around us and within us offers an opportunity to reward us with pleasure―potential.  Early in childhood we learn that such pleasure-seeking behavior can be punished―pain.

In the 7th chapter of Romans, the Apostle Paul clearly explains the struggle of obedience/disobedience which lies in all of us.  He finishes the chapter with these verses: For I delight in the law of God after the inward man: but I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. O wretched man that I am! who shall deliver me from the body of this death? I thank God through Jesus Christ our Lord. So then with the mind I myself serve the law of God; but with the flesh the law of sin. Romans 7:22-25

As children of God, we are to obey laws which guide us in proper behavior, i.e. to control and discipline ourselves; to humble and deny our self desires. To the world this type of action is labeled neurosis. Neurosis is considered the suppression of our natural inclination toward pleasure so as not to be punished, i.e. to avoid pain. The liberal sees the suppression of natural behavior (behavior which is doing no harm to others) as the major source of evil in society. According to men like Freud, neurosis is when the "superego" (social rules and standards) is not in harmony with our "id" (our natural inclinations.) Parental discipline, religious denunciation of bodily pleasure, . . . have all left man overly docile, but secretly in his unconscious unconvinced, and therefore neurotic. Norman O. Brown Life against Death

Obedience by children to parental commands is associated with inhibition.  Inhibition, if experienced for long periods of time, leads to bad health.  What is missing in the social engineer's minds is that to obey a parent's command stops the internal discourse of dissatisfaction―inhibition-tensionand produces a "peaceable fruit of righteousness" Hebrews 12:11. An obedient child is not an inhibited child. A clarity of mind and purpose would prevail which would be tied to the behavior of obedience to parent and God, a condition social theorist―sulking children―abhor. In their religion this is the cause of individual and social alienation, the source of war. The scriptures differ:  From whence come wars and fightings among you? come they not hence, even of your lusts that war in your members? Ye lust, and have not: ye kill, and desire to have, and cannot obtain: ye fight and war, yet ye have not, because ye ask not. Ye ask, and receive not, because ye ask amiss, that ye may consume it upon your lusts. Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? James 4:1-4

To the world the natural response to the inhibiting of the pleasure circuit of the brain, our "id", is the pain circuit of the brain, "fight or flight."  These behaviors would be used in an effort to restore the former pleasure producing environment or to relocate to another environment where the pursuit of pleasure would be permitted. Yet in a patriarchal society, where children are subject to obey the parents command, such behavior ("fight or flight") would not be permitted.

The social engineer sees another option as the key to world peace (social homeostasis)―discourse.  The rational, practical, reasonable process requires equality in discourse/dialogue (the use of the mind, collectedly) to create a world where laws demand freedom for temporal pleasure seeking―a direct annihilation of one's religious foundation, one's faith in God and his commands. This is reflected in Karl Marx's ideology; "Laws must not fetter human life; but yield to it; they must change as the needs and capacities of the people change." Karl Marx Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right  ed. Joseph O'Malley  Norman O. Brown, in his books "Life against Death," wrote, "Freud speaks of religion as a ‘substitute-gratification' – the Freudian analogue to the Marxian formula, ‘opiate of the people.' "  For both men, when anyone substitutes the natural desires of pleasure, finding pleasant union with the world, with that of a voice which places itself above the earthy, carnal, material desires of the world, religion is born; for Marx, an opiate, for Freud, a substitution, for both a superstition.

Therefore according to a materialistic, dialectical world, the body provides two basic behavior responses to the world we live in: 1) to approach pleasure-seeking items and 2) to avoid pain producing items.  The former relates to the reward circuitry of the body, where reward produces positive reinforcement and a remembrance of the paths taken to receive reward and where failure produces a continuation of action to find a pathway to positive reinforcement. The latter relates to the punishment system, a negative reinforcement, which triggers either 1. "fight or flight" in an effort to restore or find an environment of equilibrium or 2. an inhibition of action to avoid punishment while seeking for another way out of the paindiscourse―a reason to justify "fight or flight." Instead the word of God says we are to "Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart." 2 Timothy 2:22 and "And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and into many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition. For the love of money [love of stored up dopamine potential] is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness." 1 Timothy 6:8-11

"tend and befriend"
not
"fight or flight"
The difference between men and women under stress.

"Tending involves nurturant activities designed to protect the self and offspring that promote safety and reduce distress.
Befriending is the creation and maintenance of social networks that may aid in this process."1

"When the hormone oxytocin is release as part of the stress responses in a woman, it buffers the 'fight or flight'  response [masculine reaction] and encourages her to tend children and gather with other women instead. When she actually engages in this tending or befriending, studies suggest that more oxytocin is released, which further counters stress and produces a calming effect. This calming response does not occur in men, says Dr. Klein, [Laura Cousin Klein, Ph.D.] because testosterone---which men produce in high levels when they're under stress---seems to reduce the effects of oxytocin. Estrogen, she adds, seems to enhance it.... oxytocin encourages us to care for children and hang out with other women, ... social ties reduce our risk of disease by lowering blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol. ... helping us [women] live longer."2

Pleasure-seeking is located in both 1). the limbic system, consisting of the amygdala (imparts agreeable or disagreeable tone of feeling to perception) and the hippocampus (the area of memory, preserving agreeable memories, associating pleasure to the environment which activated it.)  and 2). the reward circuit of the brain which drives us to repeat the behavior which produced the pleasure we experienced. Pain avoidance ("fight or flight") lies in the hypothalamus, the midbrain, and the pain circuit of the brain. And the inhibition of action lies in the septal area, the hypothalamus, the amygdala, and the ventromedial hypothalamus parts of the brain.

What is absolutely mind boggling is that our nervous system has no dead ends. Any pleasure producing event, which our senses picks up and sends to the brain, via neurons (our nerve system), will be identified by the brain for the purpose of maintenance, restoration, or production. It will then seek throughout the body, via the nervous system, "Who done it!" in its effort to continue the pleasure, to restore it, or, if neither is possible, to create it. It is as thought the brain has a will of its own tied to the flesh.  Man must be willing to either allow this flesh based system to control him or else control it. While this will of the body is designed by God for the health of the body, when the will of the body controls the will of the soul it leads to death and judgment by God.

But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. James 1:14, 15

For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous. Romans 5:19

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? or what shall a man give in exchange for his soul?  Matthew 16:24-26

For whosoever exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted. Luke 14:11

And said, Verily I say unto you, Except ye be converted, and become as little children, ye shall not enter into the kingdom of heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, the same is greatest in the kingdom of heaven. Matthew 18:3, 4

And he answering said, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy strength, and with all thy mind; and thy neighbour as thyself. Luke 10:27

And he said unto his disciples, Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on. The life is more than meat, and the body is more than raiment. Luke 12:22, 23

Then answered Jesus and said unto them, Verily, verily, I say unto you, The Son can do nothing of himself, but what he seeth the Father do: for what things soever he doeth, these also doeth the Son likewise. He that speaketh of himself seeketh his own glory: but he that seeketh his glory that sent him, the same is true, and no unrighteousness is in him.  John 5: 19; 7:18

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father. Philemon 2:9-11

I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith. Romans 12:1-3

Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,  Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.
For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds.  Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin.  And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:  For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?  But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.  Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live?  For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby.
Hebrews 12:1-11

For healthy dopamine production:

Be careful [to be anxious, to be troubled with cares] for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:6, 7

But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father which is in heaven:
Matthew 5:44, 45

Heaven and earth shall pass away: but my words shall not pass away. And take heed to yourselves, lest at any time your hearts be overcharged with surfeiting, and drunkenness, and cares of this life, and so that day come upon you unawares. For as a snare shall it come on all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth. Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
Luke 21:33-36

The options a child has after learning his pleasure seeking behavior is wrong is either to submit to correction, i.e. chastening, (which social engineersas Satando not see as an acceptable paradigm), to fight, (which the parent will stop immediately), to flee (which the parent will not put up with), or to become inhibited (what the materialist dialectic thinkers falsely label obedient minded children and adults as. Their condition is labeled as neurosis which, if practices for very long will damage the body, according to them.).  Within the diaprax environment, an environment of permissiveness, the obey authority trained adult, if his job is on the line, will be forced to give up "fight or flight" and either praxis the dialectical process or become inhibited. Unless he knows the Lord he will go home depressed and have to seek assistance from antidepressants with social support (plenty of social engineers around to provide that) if he is to be restored to the world of pleasure.  Unless you know Jesus Christ as your Savior and Lord and have His peace which passes all understanding and His joy which is unspeakable―Holy Spirit provided, you will experience inhibition, and the spirit of the world will be waiting for your call.

The only option left in a diaprax world is to stand "and having done all to stand," (Jesus despised the shame of the cross―a sign of social rejection―yet endured the cross, loving not his life (here) to the end, looking for the joy of what lay ahead.)  Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.  Hebrews 12:1, 2

1. If you find yourself in the diaprax process, petition, with truth and love, to change the environment from a dialectical to a didactic paradigm-history shows it usually will not change without force―people hooked on drugs (love of pleasure, love of this world) are not usually reasonable.

And he went into the synagogue, and spake boldly for the space of three months, disputing and persuading the things concerning the kingdom of God.  But when divers were hardened, and believed not, but spake evil of that way before the multitude, he departed from them, and separated the disciples,... Acts 19:8, 9

Deductive reasoning requires others to be willing to reason from the same premise, the same a priori, in this case the authority of God's word.  Discourse must always proceeds from God's word, judging that which is in agreement with it as true and that which contradicts it as false. Those who discourse from a common perception, who reason inductively, will not, in fact can not tolerate deductive thinking.

 2. If you can not petition then come out of it, if you have not already been "extruded." See 2 Corinthians 6:17.

"It is important that the therapist attempt to screen out patients who will become marked deviants . . . deviants because of their impersonal behavior in the group sessions and not because of a deviant life style or past history.  There is no type of past behavior to deviant for a group to accept once therapeutic group norms are established." Irvin Yalom The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy

". . . he must experience the group as a refuge wherein he is safe, wherein he can entertain new beliefs and experiment with new behavior without fear or reprisal."  Ibid

". . .  communication toward a deviant is very great initially and then drops off sharply as the group rejects the deviant.  Eventually, the group will extrude the deviant.  They may smile at one another when he speaks or behaves irrelevantly; they will mascot him, they will ignore him rather than invest the necessary time to understand his interventions." Ibid

Obedience (faith) necessitates chastening (pain) when our pleasure seeking flesh captures our mind (imaginationthe brain is wired to pleasure-law of the flesh. Our carnal mind will justify the flesh's dopamine desires).

And God saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. Genesis 6:5

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh: (For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;) Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ; And having in a readiness to revenge all disobedience, when your obedience is fulfilled. 2 Corinthians 10:3-6

The following chart exposes the dialectical praxis of extrapolation.  Any activity which supports patriarchal behavior (demanding traditional leadership) is removed in a facilitated environment.  This produces frustration in anyone thinking and behaving patriarchal. This is because the environment does not permit "fight or flight" if the person is to stay around and permissiveness has replaced obedience.   This produces a state of confusion, inhibition, where the person is now seeking a way out of the internal pain of dissonance. Pressured to discourse (external group pressure-internal survival pressure) the person answers the dialectically ensnaring questions "How do you feel we . . . ?"   "What do you think we . . . ?" to his own peril.  Reasoning "with feelings," a persons heart, now moves each person away from a patriarchal solution to the problem.  The trick was training facilitators on how to praxis this environment, to create and sustain it, and not get forced out of the room, or themselves become again authoritative.  By removing fight (which to a Christian can be confronting a lie with the truth, exposing the darkness) they neuter the "resistor to change" who caved in to keep his jobs, his good grade, his next term in office, etc. to restore any hope for pleasure seeking. When "hope" in man arrives it is always in the form of a socially correct environment (diaprax).

What I find missing in regards to social change is the answer to the question "What affect does obedience, which requires chastening, have upon a person physiologically?" Is facing reality as damaging to a person as the social-engineers espouse? The answer is going to be religious. The religion of the cosmos places mans control the the environment (his own feelings included) as the pathway to peace, which requires "sensuous reasoning."  God places himself as the pathway to peace, which requires faith and obedience.

Today's postmodern esoteric (hermitic) church leadership is trying to solve the problem of pathways by merging (synthesizing) the two, where mans pathway, sensuous based reasoning (love-Eros) and God's pathway, faith based obedience (love-agape), can find common ground in the environmental condition of collective discourse-physiological homeostasis (homo-stasis). "The answer to man's predicament lies in the realization by individual man, that all men are essentially one and that the one is God." "This self-realization is a 'return' to union: potential becomes actual." Tillich is actually directing an apologetic humanistic message to a Christian audience. He is telling those Christians who can hear that they can accept humanism without relinquishing Christianity if they will accept man as the true meaning of God. Leonard F. Wheat,  Paul Tillich's Dialectical Humanism: Unmasking the God above God

"Freud referred to ... the group's ‘need to be governed by unrestricted force . . . it's extreme passion for authority . . . it's thirst for obedience.' Among the strongest of these is man's need for an omnipotent, omniscient, omnicaring parent, which together with his infinite capacity for self-deception creates a yearning for and a belief in a superbeing." Irvin Yalom The Theory and Practice of Group Psychotherapy

What does God and mankind have in common, the message of love and peace. One pathway is taken because of faith and obedience (requiring chastening-pain-withdrawal) to an authority above man and the other is taken because of the drive for pleasure, the highest pleasure being living in peace with oneself and all mankind, based upon the approval of men. Yet God says that peace is not found in the environment, it is not found in the cosmos, it is only found in Him, the creator. "My peace I give you ... " "My ways are not your ways ...."  "There is a way which seemeth right ...." "When they say peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape." 1 Thessalonians 5:3

"Healthy Churches?"

Whoever defines terms controls your life.  Whoever defines healthy controls your life. The objective of life is to have "good" health. "Good" health is based upon the idea one has of the word health. According to the mind of the world, health is physical (brain), mental (mind), and or social (collective soul). An example of definitions is the difference between the French and the American Revolutions regarding the health of mankind.

The American Revolution and the documents and government which followed reflected the position (biblically based) that mankind is by nature not good, does not will to do good, and that his inclinations are not good.  Government was to be limited, checks and balances, vigilance was to be practiced, etc. because man was not to be trusted, even (especially) in government.  It was Law above man. It manifested a didactic, patriarchal, deductive, traditional, family based paradigm.

The French Revolution and the documents and government which reflected the position (secularly based) that mankind is by nature good, that he wills to do good, and that his inclinations are good when they are in accord with common needs.  Government was given power to identify the "good" nature of mankind and help create an environment which would assist the goodness of mankind to be liberated from the barriers and bondages of evil, (anything which prevented social harmony).  Therefore Government was not limited and divided but was all-powerful and unified because man could be trusted.  The "good" nature of man was the basis of law. The objective was therefore to create a environment where the goodness of mankind could be developed and practiced for the benefit of all.

Have you heard of "healthy" schools, "healthy" workplace, "healthy" government, "healthy" home, and "healthy" church, welcome to the dialectical principles of the French Revolution, Russian Revolution, UN, etc.  If you build it, the good nature of mankind which lies inhibited ("in the closet"), will come forth.

Colossians 2:6-23

As ye have therefore received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk ye in him: Rooted and built up in him, and stablished in the faith, as ye have been taught, abounding therein with thanksgiving.
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ. For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily. And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power: In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ: Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. Let no man beguile you of your reward in a voluntary humility and worshipping of angels, intruding into those things which he hath not seen, vainly puffed up by his fleshly mind, And not holding the Head, from which all the body by joints and bands having nourishment ministered, and knit together, increaseth with the increase of God.
Wherefore if ye be dead with Christ from the rudiments of the world, why, as though living in the world, are ye subject to ordinances, (Touch not; taste not; handle not; Which all are to perish with the using;) after the commandments and doctrines of men? Which things have indeed a show of wisdom in will worship, and humility, and neglecting of the body; not in any honour to the satisfying of the flesh.

What the family has that the evil men of the world must destroy if globalism is to succeed.

What is common with all of today's health based material is the absence of obedience to authority. Theodor Adorno's book The Authoritarian Personality falsely identified the traditional, obedience based family as the source of Fascism (he correlated any form of authoritarianism, obedience to God, parent, state, nation, etc. as the foundation for potential fascism). Despite the evidence contrary to his conclusion, evidence he himself recognized but willfully ignored, that the middle-class family in America showed no correlation to a Fascist takeover of this nation (as sited below), yet, for the sake of the Marxist-Freudian formula (that man is neither evil nor good but simply a product of his environmental press, that good or bad behavior is directly tied to the environment in which man is raised) Americans are now under pressure from all directions to praxis Marxist ideology, if they are to avoid being labeled as a Fascist. Thus today, the only way to "get ahead" in education, the workplace, government, the village, the church, and in the postmodern family is to praxis transformational Marxism (diaprax).

"Extreme prejudice of a violent and openly antidemocratic sort does not seem to be widespread in this country, especially in the middle class."  Theodor Adorno The Authoritarian Personality

" . . . a 'cure' of one manifestation is likely to be followed by a breaking out in some other way. . . . so great is the over-all fascist potential that any front might make it even more difficult . . ." Ibid

". . . as the present study has shown, we are dealing with a structure within the person it seems that we should consider, first, psychological techniques for changing personality." Ibid

"The problem is one which requires the efforts of all social scientists . . . the councils or round tables . . . psychologists should have a voice."  Ibid

Adorno and those who thought like him believed and espoused the praxis of creating a dialectical environment, where common "felt" needs (collective pleasure-dopamine-approval of men) were elevated as the underpinning of human rights (the right of the child―"What about your child's social life?" No longer "What about your child's eternal life?") and social alienation (the result of obedience to any voice above the collective voice of the group or village, an "unreasoning", commanding, demanding obedience, non-consensual voicethe source of inhibition) was promoted as the cause of neurosis, the source of an anti-social illness and low self-esteem. This social Luciferian religion is now mandated  in all policy environments; education, workplace, government, and churchincluding and especially targeting the home. (Social-engineers would rather be referred to as compassionate and caring professionals who see themselves as helping others feel the need for "mandatory volunteerism" (the keystone of a soviet style society), but the truth be know they are ruthless and self-seeking when it all said and done.  "Grab and run" is their true banner.)

" . . . the impact of Sigmund Freud's work on modern culture . . . the connection between the suppression of children (both within the home and outside) . . . the psychological dynamics of the life of the child and the adult alike."  Theodor Adorno The Authoritarian Personality

"The power-relationship between the parents, the domination of the subject's family by the father or by the mother, and their relative dominance in specific areas of life also seemed of importance for our problem."  Theodor Adorno The Authoritarian Personality

"It would then be more understandable why the German family, with its long history of authoritarian, threatening father figures, could become susceptible to a fascist ideology."  Ibid.

"A new scientific truth does not triumph by convincing its opponents and making them see the light, but rather because its opponents eventually die, and a new generation grows up that is familiar with it."   Thomas Kuhn, quoting Max Planck's famous dictum.  The Structure of Scientific Revolutions.

"Kuhn admitted problems with the schemata of his socio-psychological theory yet continued to urge its application into the scientific fields of astronomy, physics, chemistry and biology." Ibid.

"Kuhn states 'If a paradigm is ever to triumph it must gain some first supporters, men who will develop it to the point where hardheaded arguments can be produced and multiplied . . . (which eventuates in) an increasing shift in the distribution of professional allegiances (where upon) the man who continues to resist after his whole profession has been converted is ipso facto ceased to be a scientist." Ibid., pp. 158-159

The patriarchal environment which requires (by forces if necessary) children to obey parents, who set "unreasoned" standards (anti-social standards―Noah, Abraham, Jesus were anti-social), is now seen as child abuse. As Marx stated, "the earthly (traditional) family must be annihilated."  How do you do this? According to him and the praxis of today, "in theory and in practice" i.e. collective discourse in a collective environment―"group think," participatory democracy supported by democratic "ethics." As Jürgen Habermas preached: Categorical Imperative (obedience) pulled into discourse (human reasoning) results in the lose of ones religious foundation (patricide), or as Hegel's formula went, A + -A = A, a new paradigm where theory is treated as a fact and fact is treated as a theory, where truth is treated as an opinion and opinions are treated as truth, where reality is treated as an illusion and illusion is treated as reality (a mocking of truth). Postmodernism means "no set standards." It depends upon a process experienced where truth is not be found above mankind but rather in the moment, in the "here and now", "... a moment in correct praxis." Antonio Gramsci  Truth can only be discovered in an environmental condition which is the key to its revelation (revolution-a laboratory moment). According to this process, truth can only known (gnosis-Gnosticism) in an all inclusive, unifying discursive praxis. All other ways are illusions.

"Truth is a moment in correct praxis."  Antonio Gramsci, as quoted in Martin Jay, Dialectical Imagination

The traditional family environment, with its obedience to "arbitrary" authority (non-consensual rules established by absolute authority―what Karl Marx labeled as "a condition which requires illusions"), advocating chastening as an acceptable means to the development of proper behavior, is now seen as the cause of anti-social behavior (as it was in the French Revolution, the Soviet Union, as in all dialectical environments which kill their own citizens).

"Social control is most effective at the individual level.  THE PERSONAL CONSCIENCE IS THE KEY ELEMENT in ensuring self-control, refraining from deviant behavior even when it can easily perpetrated." Dr. Robert Trojanowicz, The meaning of  "Community" in Community Policing

"The guilty conscience is formed in childhood by the incorporation of the parents and the wish to be father of oneself." Norman O. Brown, Life Against Death, p. 276

"Man consciously transforms his environment in response to his needs."  "Only within a social context individual man is able to realize his own potential as a rational being." Joseph O'Malley, Karl Marx Critique of Hegel's Philosophy of Right

"The ideas of the Enlightenment taught man that he could trust his own reason as a guide to establishing valid ethical norms and that he could rely on himself, needing neither revelation nor that authority of the church in order to know good and evil."  Critical Theory and its Theorists,   p. 231

The healthy environment for individual as well as social development, according to transformational Marxists, must be one where all prior standards must be questioned via collective discourse and must be continuously (temporarily) re-actualized through collective, con-sensual, discursive agreement. Faith in God and his word can not be supported in such an environment. It is impossible to keep your faith in God and praxis the dialectical process.

But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him. By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith. By faith Abraham, when he was called to go out into a place which he should after receive for an inheritance, obeyed; and he went out, not knowing whither he went. Hebrews 11:6-8

Through faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. Hebrews 11:3

Peace by God's definition vs. Peace by Man's definition.

Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philemon 4:6, 7

Mind, Soul, brain, etc. all have their part in God's creation and in our lives.  First there is no such thing as Psychology.  A science of the soul is impossible.  A science of the brain is.  Sigmund Freud never did understand the soul.  Why call it a science or study of the soul then.  A materialist mind would associate everything to the temporal, the brain. The brain, identified with neurons, synapses, etc. is tied to and bound by flesh.  Its loyalty, by nature, is to its nature.  By itself it is the law of the flesh.  The mind is what we think by.  We set our minds either upon the the flesh, things on the earth, or upon God, things above.  We therefore choose to either behave under the influence and control of our human nature, or control our human nature under control of our creator. The "We" is the will, tied to the Soul.  If you do not control the brain (the fleshy nature of self pleasure and self preservation) then it will control you.  God holds you (your soul) responsible for controlling your self which is the mind being controlled by the flesh-love of pleasure.  God does not control your self.  If you do not control self, he will judge you-your soul. You sometimes need to drag your self out of bed.  All souls are to praxis a didactic, patriarchal paradigm.  Man can only have a science of the brain.  Thus behavior "science" is not based upon IQ but upon the senses of the brain, the chemistry of the brain, the feelings it generates as well as the thinking which either gravitates toward or restrains those feelings, those "felt" needs. To make the collective brain, the sensuous (which you have in common with everyone else in the temporal) the standard for human behavior results in humanism, materialism, socialism, globalism, hedonism, etc. This carnal thinking has slipped into the church and has now become the tool for evaluating what is good and what is not.

"It has been pointed out that we are attempting to classify phenomena which could not be observed or manipulated in the same concrete form as the phenomena of such fields as the physical and biological sciences." Bloom, et al., Taxonomy of Educational Objectives, Book 1, Cognitive Domain, p. 5

"Certainly the Taxonomy was unproved at the time it was developed and may well be 'unprovable.'"  Bloom, Forty Year Evaluation.

" ... Dr. Skinner ... Walden Two ... the behavioral sciences are fully utilized in all aspects of life, -- marriage, child rearing, ethical conduct, work, play, and artistic endeavor."  Carl Rogers, On becoming a person

As shown above the brain is a marvelous thing.  Yet it is wired to set systems.  The reward-system is wired for "approach," the pain-system is wired for "avoidance."  Both serve their purpose in temporal behavior, preservation of the body.  For Freud the highest pleasure was sex, not for the purpose of pro-creation since he categorized that act as castration. Sex to him was associated with all the senses.  He saw children as sexually active.  He could only come to this conclusion since he only reasoned to the material attributes of mankind.  The brain―the body (temporal).

In its wiring there is either pleasure or pain.  When pain prevents pleasure we either fight to restore it or flee to find a place of peace.  If we can do neither we become "inhibited" according to the social-engineers.  Inhibition is the result of the lack of understanding needed to deal with the pain to restore pleasure.  Thus reasoning will lead us back to restoring or creating a pleasure producing environment―peace. This leads to the condition the scriptures define as "Lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God" when we seek pleasure above obedience toward God.  What is excluded from all social-psychology is the need to obey.  This is a higher peace. This is the peace that "passes all understanding."  Man's peace is found in reasoning which restores dopamine production and temporal homeostasis―the creation, God's peace is found in obedience which restores us to right relation with Him―the creator.

Like drug addicts, those who find peace in the creation, will persecute those who find peace in the Creator.  The law of the flesh rules their lives and they do not love the law of God.  Ever learning they are never able to understand because true understanding begins with the fear of God, leading to obedience, leading to peace.

Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. These things I have spoken unto you, that in me ye might have peace. In the world ye shall have tribulation: but be of good cheer; I have overcome the world. Then said Jesus to them again, Peace be unto you: as my Father hath sent me, even so send I you. John 14:27; 16:33; 20:21

As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one. Their throat is an open sepulcher; with their tongues they have used deceit; the poison of asps is under their lips: Whose mouth is full of cursing and bitterness: Their feet are swift to shed blood: Destruction and misery are in their ways: And the way of peace have they not known: There is no fear of God before their eyes.  Romans 3:10-18

With our mind we decide whether to follow the temporal or the spiritual, we set our mind on one or the other, we either follow the senses which always is sensually justified (makes sense) or we obey God in faith.

For they that are after the flesh do mind the things of the flesh; but they that are after the Spirit the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. So then they that are in the flesh cannot please God. But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; but the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Romans 8:5-10

Discourse/dialogue (self justification-matriarchal) is not used in a state of God's peace (patriarchal).  In carnal peace, materialism, there is only confusion until dopamine is back in control for the moment.  All human reasoning seeks temporal-cosmic peace, this includes all who seek after the god's of this world, and any behavior or condition which restrains this process is seen as non-"sense"―rightly so to the carnal mind. To arrive at consensus (united thinking and feeling) one must come through the land of confusion.  This is the foolish thinking of mankind in rebellion against God and his commands. God does not mingle the temporal and the spiritual, the secular and the sacred, man talking (discourse to a state of "harmony") and God speaking (let man keep his peace-be still, get self [discourse to pleasure] under control and listen to his word).

For God is not the author of confusion, but of peace, as in all churches of the saints. Let your women keep silence in the churches: for it is not permitted unto them to speak; but they are commanded to be under obedience, as also saith the law. And if they will learn any thing, let them ask their husbands at home: for it is a shame for women to speak in the church. 1 Corinthians 14:33-35

But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape. 1 Thessalonians 5:1-3

The false Christ is a "Christ" of extrapolated "Scripture" and of pleasure-dopamine.  When social peace in the name of "Christ" is accomplished then social (dopamine-approval of men) harmony is accomplished. The true Christ will appear as a thief since he comes to rule with command and not by the sensuous-dopamine.

Peace comes through obedience to Godwhen we quite arguing and attempting to justifying our way, when we quite talking to ourselves (which loves and thinks and reasons to pleasure).  It is the sigh after the last whimper from a chastening where peace comes.

Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. Hebrews 12:11

And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Philemon 4:7

2 Corinthians 5:10-11

For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad. Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; ...

2 Corinthians 4:16-18

For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day. For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory; While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

TO SPANK OR NOT TO SPANK.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me. Psalms 23:4

Foolishness is bound in the heart of a child; but the rod of correction shall drive it far from him. Proverbs 22:15
Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell. Proverbs 23:13, 14

If you happened to read the Monday issue of U.S.A. Today, October 9, 2006 in the money section B you would have read this article on spanking.  Although most CEOs (presumable successful businessmen and women) were spanked in their lives and most contributed it to some part of their success, the psychological mindset of the editor reflects a resentment toward the act of spanking.  Despite the evidence, the editor, referring to an authority on human behavior stating "Strous says it comes as no surprise that CEOs who were spanked express great affection for their parents.  It's not just bad parents who spank.  'So do very good parents,' he says, 'They would be even better parents if they did not spank, and their kids would be doing even better.'"  Can you believe such a fiat statement.  No evidence supports such a claim.  It simply reflects the bias of liberal-carnal minds (sulking children) who resent having to obey authority.

"The conception of the ideal family situation for the child:  (1) uncritical obedience to the father and elders, (2) pressures directed unilaterally from above to below, (3) inhibition of spontaneity, and (4) emphasis on conformity to externally imposed values." Theodor Adorno, The Authoritarian Personality

"God is conceived more directly after a parental image and thus as a source of support and as a guiding and sometimes punishing authority." Ibid.

"The state, by its very interference in the life of its citizens, must necessarily undermine a parental authority which it attempts to restore." Warren Bennis and Philip Slater, The Temporary Society

"For how ever much the state or community may wish to inculcate obedience and submission in the child, its intervention betrays a lack of confidence in the only objects from whom a small child can learn authoritarian submission, the parents." Ibid.

All liberals (transformational Marxist) praxis the 4th thesis on Feuerbach:  "... the earthly family (traditional patriarchal family) must be annihilated ..." Marx stated, since it is the "secret of the heavenly family."  This will be accomplished when all must join in discourse to justify common pleasure in an effort to overcome inhibition. This is Cane sulking, whose countenance had fallen because he could not have it his way, the result of carnal mind not willing to accept obedience to parents and God as an option.

A CLASS ON A DRUG CALLED DOPAMINE-THE PLEASURE DRUG

THE WORLD'S VIEW OF REWARD AND PUNISHMENT

"To dopamine or not to dopamine that is the question."

Environmental feedback about our behavior - to maintain well-being.

The "re-establishing the constancy of the conditions of life in the internal environment." Claude Bernard
"homeostasis." Walter Cannon
"the pleasure principle." Sigmund Freud

The "reward system" of the brain and dopamine.

 1. ventral tegmental area, located in the midbrain, contains especially high concentrations of dopaminergic synapses (dopaminergic neurons) which activate the limbic system (important for memory and for motivating behaviors) via the mesolimbic pathway and the prefrontal cortex (important for planning and motivating action) via the mesocortical pathway. Cocaine, amphetamines, opium concentrate in the ventral tegmental area.
2. nucleus accumbens, venral striatum, located in the septal region, an interface between the limbic system and the motor system.
3. prefrontal cortex, attention and motivation processor.

It is the neurons of the ventral tegmental area VTA that synthesize dopamine, which their axons then send to the nucleus accumbens.

The reward circuit uses a neurotransmitter called dopamine, which brings desire to the forefront. Practically all of the drugs that cause dependencies increase the amount of dopamine in the reward circuit. Drugs of dependency either imitate, stimulate, or block the effects of the neurotransmitter dopamine. While drugs increase the production of dopamine in the nucleus accumbens, they reduce serotonin, whose effects include satiety (1 : the quality or state of being fed or gratified to or beyond capacity 2 : the revulsion or disgust caused by overindulgence or excess Merriam-Webster Dictionary) and inhibition (an inner impediment to free activity, expression, or functioning: imposing restraint upon behavior or desire Merriam-Webster Dictionary).

Neurotransmitters act as envoys between neurons acting to adjust behaviors and emotions. Neurotransmitters, like dopamine, are regulated by feedback mechanisms of the body. Drugs increasing the amount of neurotransmitters cause the brain to limit its natural output of neurotransmitters in an effort to keep homeostasis in the body.  When the drug wears off, the lack of neurotransmitters will "starve" the body, producing a feeling of craving (withdrawal), until the neurons can resume its normal output of neurotransmitters or the drug be reintroduced to the brain.  The body will limit the output of dopamine by shutting down the neurotransmitters when an overabundance of dopamine is present.  Some imitations of dopamine can result in the body actually destroying the neurotransmitter synthesizing part of the neuron.

"In a positive reinforcement, the motivation for seeking the substance is the pleasure that it provides. In a negative reinforcement, the motivation is to relieve a physical discomfort, a depressive state, or social isolation."

"Various theories explaining dependency behaviors posit that both types of reinforcement could be at play simultaneously to differing extents."

neurotransmitter–a substance that transmits nerve impulses across a synapses

(Dopaminergic neurons produce the neurotransmitter dopamine which is released into the synopsis to transmit message of source of pleasure to receptors on the next neruon.)

Dopamine production in the brain and its affect upon the brain and human behavior:

There are eight major dopaminergic pathways in the brain. Three of these pathways, which originate in the midbrain, are especially important.

1. "the mesolimbic pathway–the bundle of dopaminergic fibres associated with the reward circuit. This pathway originates in the ventral tegmental area and innervates several structures of the limbic system, including the nucleus accumbens. The mesolimbic pathway is important for memory and for motivating behaviours."

2. "The mesocortical pathway also originates in the ventral tegmental area, but projects to the frontal cortex and surrounding structures. Some evidence indicates that a malfunction in this pathway might be the cause of some of the symptoms of schizophrenia, such as hallucinations and disordered thinking."

3. "The third, nigrostriatal pathway projects axons from the substantia nigra to the striatum (caudate nucleus and putamen), which is involved in motor control. Degeneration of the neurons in this pathway is associated with the trembling and muscular rigidity symptomatic of Parkinson's disease."

"When the cortex receives and then processes a sensory stimulus indicating a reward, it sends a signal announcing this reward to a particular part of the midbrain, the ventral tegmental area (VTA)–which then releases dopamine.  Dopamine then affects the mesocorticolimbic dopaminergic system, particularly the the nucleus accumbens, which is one of the main components of the medial forebrain bundle (MFB)―the brains major reward circuit. The activation of the MFB by the release of dopamine by the VTA leads to the repetition of the gratifying action to strengthen the associated pathways in the brain." "The increase in the level of dopamine in the nucleus accumbens, and in other brain regions, reinforces the behaviors by which we satisfy our fundamental needs."
.
"It has now been established that all substances that trigger dependencies in human beings increase the release of a neuromediator, dopamine, in a specific area of the brain: the nucleus accumbens."  "Some substances imitate" dopamine, "other substances increase the secretion of" dopamine, while "other substances block" the secretion of dopamine.  "

"... associated dopamine more with novelty and its ability to increase motivation to approach gratifying objects. This "incentive value" would be a distinct component of what we commonly call "pleasure seeking." In other words, the dopaminergic system would be necessary for wanting the gratifying object, but not for liking it or for learning to remember new sources of pleasure."

"There are five types of receptors for dopamine in the human brain, identified as D1 to D5. They are not all equally involved in pleasure-seeking behavior. For instances, some studies have shown that D3 receptors appear to be more involved in the phenomenon of dependency. More recently, other studies have associated the activation of D1 receptors with the euphoriant effects of cocaine and the desire to obtain them."

AND REFLECT A POSTMODERN VIEW OF THE WORLD.

... if we hope to one day build a social and economic structure that can free all of us from primitive relations of dominance, we will first have to learn to know ourselves better." "...scientists today view remembering not as a simple retrieval of fixed records, but rather as an ongoing process of reclassification resulting from continuous changes in our neural pathways and parallel processing of information in our brains." "....repetition seems to be a less effective strategy for consolidating a memory than the technique of giving it a meaning by associating it with previously acquired knowledge." "... we see that the major media in capitalist Western democracies follow a propagandistic model that sanitizes information by passing it through several institutionalized filters.

... humans ... acquire a great deal of their knowledge and cultural baggage from the oral accounts of their elders, the written accounts of past generations, and the objects that they made and left behind.

... collective memory ... represent tangible records of the past that are external to ourselves. .... individual must form a representation of them internally, by electrochemical means, in his or her own neural networks. ... then, through word and gesture, pass the society's collective memory on to the following generations.

The concept of "memes" was first proposed by Richard Dawkins in 1976. It attempts to describe this transmission of culture by drawing several parallels with genes, another kind of entity that seeks to replicate itself, albeit at a lower level of organization. Like genes, memes try to transmit themselves, but directly from one brain to another. Their ecosystem, so to speak, is the social system composed of the community of human brains.

A meme can therefore be defined as any elementary unit of information that can be transmitted from one brain to another. Memes take many, widely varied forms, such as words, images, melodies, gestures, and bits of procedural knowledge. Memes propagate themselves through imitation and through oral and written traditions by means of individuals' memories. But memes also draw on myriad forms of memory that are external to the human mind, such as paper, magnetic tape, optical disks, and other computer storage media.

The success of a meme is measured by the number of brains to which it propagates. Certain contradictory memes often compete with one another. In such cases, the most attractive meme becomes the central one, while the others gradually slip into oblivion. Unfortunately, this is now the case with the meme of capitalism, which has completely displaced its socialist and communist rivals. In contrast, some memes form alliances to enhance their effectiveness, such as the alliance between the "anti-abortion" meme and the "belief in an afterlife" meme.

Memes can occur singly (for example, as individual beliefs, opinions, slogans, or tricks of a trade), or they can come grouped into articulated complexes (such as political, religious, and scientific doctrines). In the realm of science, such complex memes have also been called "scientific paradigms" ever since Thomas Kuhn characterized such paradigms in his 1962 book The Structure of Scientific Revolutions. Kuhn's definition of a paradigm as a particular set of ideas to which society subscribes at a particular time closely resembles the concept of an "articulated complex of memes".

A paradigm is a fundamental frame of reference on which researchers in a given discipline rely to structure and guide their research. For example, the medical model that currently prevails in the Western world explains all physical problems by physiological causes and uses organic methods, such as medication and surgery, to treat them. This model can thus be described as the dominant paradigm of official Western medicine.

For Kuhn, the history of science is not a gradual, cumulative ascent toward increasingly true theories based on experience. Instead, Kuhn views this history as subject both to the cultural and social contingencies of the moment and to the random personal factors that can influence the beliefs of any group of scientists at any given time.

Also, according to Kuhn, science progresses in leaps, or "shifts". Periods of calm, when one particular paradigm predominates, are succeeded by periods of struggle between opposing ideas, crises that can lead to radical re-examinations of prevailing scientific constructs. Other authors would simply say that at such times, the central meme is dislodged by a competitor that is better adapted to the current biotope of this community of brains.

The pleasure principle and cosmic consciousness.
How the worldly see it.

Some quotations from the transformationalists: pushers of the diaprax drug of secularized Satanism, intellectualized witchcraft

The foundation for "no child left behind" is built on the following men and their ideology.

Norman O. Brown  Life against Death

The goal of the pleasure principle is happiness. The energy or desire with which the human being pursues pleasure is the pleasurable activity of an organ of the body. Reality imposes on human beings the necessity of renunciation of pleasure; reality frustrates desires. The pleasure principle is in conflict with the reality principle, and this conflict is the cause of repression. Freud, Hegel, and Nietzsche are, like Marx, compelled to postulate external domination and its assertion by force in order to explain repression. Under the conditions of repression the essence of being lies in the unconscious.

Dreams and neurotic symptoms show that the frustration of reality cannot destroy the desires which are the essence of our being. If society imposes repression, and repression causes the universal neurosis of man, . . . there is an intrinsic connection between social organization and neurosis. The bondage of all cultures to their cultural heritage is a neurotic construction. The doctrine of the universal neurosis of mankind, . . . The pattern of history exhibits a dialectic of neurosis. The core of the neurosis of individuals lay in the ‘memory-traces of the experiences of former generations.' The ability to promise involves the loss of the natural animal forgetfulness of the past, which is the precondition for healthy living in the present. Through the ability to promise, the future is bound to the past.  Psychoanalysis must treat religion as a neurosis. Psychoanalysis is the heir to a mystical tradition which it must affirm (The ‘magical' body of occidental mysticism, and the ‘diamond' body of oriental mysticisms, and, in psychoanalysis, the polymorphously perverse body of childhood.) Psychoanalysis, mysticism, poetry, the philosophy of organism, Feuerbach, and Marx – the unseen harmony is stronger than the seen. Whitehead constantly draws attention to the dialectical patterns in mystical thought.

Infants know no guide except the pleasure-principle. Infants have a richer sexual life than adults. Infantile sexuality is the pursuit of pleasure obtained through the activity of any and all organs of the human body. While adult sexuality serves the socially useful purpose of breeding children, it is for the individual in some sense an end in itself as a source of pleasure – according to Freud, the highest pleasure. Children have not acquired that sense of shame which, according to the Biblical story, expelled mankind from Paradise, and which, presumably, would be discarded if Paradise were regained.

Infants are absorbed in their own bodies; they are in love with themselves. What the child knows consciously and the adult unconsciously, is that we are nothing but body. Life is of the body and only life creates value; all values are bodily values. The true life of the body is also the life of the id. In the id, says Freud, there is nothing corresponding to the act of negation. The key to the nature of dialectical thinking may lie in psychoanalysis, more specifically in Freud's psychoanalysis of negation. There is first the theorem that ‘there is nothing in the id which can be compared to negation,' and that the law of contradiction does not hold in the id. The dream does not seem to recognize the word ‘no.' There is an important connection between being ‘dialectical' and dreaming.

Children are polymorphously perverse. . . . by the standards of normal adult sexuality. Normal adult sexuality, judged by the standard of infantile sexuality, is an unnatural restriction of the erotic potentialities of the human body. Freud takes with absolute seriousness the proposition of Jesus: ‘Except ye become as little children, ye can in no wise enter the kingdom of heaven.' Psychoanalysis declares the fundamental bisexual character of human nature;

According to Freud, the ultimate essence of our being is erotic, and demands activity according to the pleasure-principle. The foundation on which the man of the future will be built is already there, in the repressed unconscious; the foundation has to be recovered. The repression of normal adult sexuality is required only by cultures which are based on patriarchal domination.

Sexual instinct seeks union with objects in the world. Eros is fundamentally a desire for union with objects in the world. Eros is the foundation of morality. Human perfection consists in an expansion of the self until it enjoys the world as it enjoys itself. Self-perfection of the human individual is fulfilled in union with the world in pleasure. Freud's later writings attribute to the ego a basic tendency to ‘reconcile,' ‘synthesize,' ‘unify' the dualism and conflicts with which the human being is beset.

Sublimation is essentially an attempt to relate the organic and superorganic levels . . . To rediscover the animal in man. Sublimation involves the desexualization of the aims of the sexual instinct. Psychoanalytic therapy is to replace repression with sublimation. If the psychoanalytical theory of sublimation is rejected, psychoanalysis has nothing much to offer to the science of culture.

Dionysian – consciousness which does not observe the limit . . . which does not negate any more. Human consciousness can be liberated from the parental complex only be being liberated from its cultural derivatives, the paternalistic state and the patriarchal God. In the words of Thoreau: ‘We need pray for no higher heaven than the pure senses can furnish, a purely sensuous life. Our present senses are but rudiments of what they are destined to become.'  Alchemy might be said to be the last effort of Western man to produce a science based on an erotic sense of reality.

Our human body would become polymorphously perverse. Common to all of them is a mode of consciousness that can be called the dialectic imagination. By ‘dialectical' I mean an activity of consciousness struggling to circumvent the limitations imposed by the formal-logical law of contradiction. Formal logic and the law of contradiction are the rules whereby the mind submits to operate under general conditions of repression. The ‘dialectical' consciousness . . . a manifestation of Eros.

In the id there is nothing corresponding to the idea of time. A healthy human being, in whom ego and id were unified, would not live in time. Only the abolition of guilt can abolish time.

We must return to Freud and say that incest guilt created the familial organization. The guilty conscience is formed in childhood by the incorporation of the parents and the wish to be father of oneself. The new guilt complex appears to be historically connected with the rise of patriarchal religion (for the Western development the Hebrews are decisive.)  Freud commented that only through the solidarity of all the participants could the sense of guilt be assuaged. The individual is emancipated in the social group. The life instinct also demands a union with others and with the world around us based not on anxiety and aggression but on narcissism and erotic exuberance. Therefore the question confronting mankind is the abolition of repression – in traditional Christian language, the resurrection of the body. The resurrection of the body is a social project . . . a practical political problem.

The statesmen of the world are called upon to deliver happiness instead of power, when political economy becomes a science of use-values instead of exchange-values. ... a science of enjoyment instead of a science of accumulation. Capitalism is destroyed in enjoyment.
Normal O. Brown Life against Death

Karl Marx

It is not the consciousness of men that determines their being, but, on the contrary, their social being determines their consciousness. Language, like consciousness, only arises from the need, the necessity, of intercourse with other men.
Karl Marx MEGA I/5, pp. 10-11, 19
Sense experience must be the basis of all science. Science is only genuine science when it proceeds from sense experience, in the two forms of sense perception and sensuous need, that is, only when it proceeds from Nature.  Karl Marx MEGA I/3, p. 123
The more of himself man attributes to God, the less he has left in himself. Karl Marx MEGA I/3, pp. 83-84
The life which he has given to the object sets itself against him as an alien and hostile force. Karl Marx MEGA I/3, pp. 83-84
The abolition of religion, as the illusory happiness of men, is a demand for their real happiness. The call to abandon their illusions about their condition is a call to abandon a condition which requires illusions. Karl Marx MEGA I/1/1

Stephen Eric Bronner Of Critical Theory And Its Theorists

Alienation and reification destroy both the dialectical interrelation of being and consciousness and, as a necessary consequence, the dialectical interrelation of theory and practice. Revolution would now seek to transform the everyday life of the ‘establishment.' … a new environmental consciousness … a new dignity to a complex concept alien to American pragmatism.

Martin Jay The Dialectical Imagination

Consciousness was incapable of changing itself; the impetus had to come from the outside.

Erik Fromm You shall be as gods

In the process of history man gives birth to himself. He becomes what he potentially is, and he attains what the serpentthe symbol of wisdom and rebellionpromised, and what the patriarchal, jealous God of Adam did not wish: that man would become like God himself.

Abraham Maslow Maslow on Management

We must ultimately assume at the highest theoretical levels of enlightenment management theory, a preference or a tendency ... to identify with more and more of the world, moving toward the ultimate of mysticism, a fusion with the world, or peak experience, cosmic consciousness, etc. A patriarchal culture is an argument against the higher possibilities of human nature, of self actualization.
Abraham Maslow Maslow on Management

Carl R. Rogers on becoming a person

Consciousness, instead of being the watchman over a dangerous and unpredictable lot of impulses, becomes the comfortable inhabitant of a society of impulses and feelings and thoughts.

David Lane, Soviet Society under Perestroika

Democratization has encouraged people to participate, 'glasnost' has allowed them to articulate their feelings, and pluralism has legitimated the rights of groups to form on the basis of a consciousness of self-interest.

Herbert Marcuse Eros and Civilization: a philosophical inquiry into Freud

If if feels good, just do it.

Erik Fromm Escape from Freedom

The most effective method for weakening the child's will is to arouse his sense of guilt. The most important symptom of the defeat in the fight for oneself is the guilty conscience.

Gordon W. Allport, The Nature of Prejudice

Thus ‘Threat orientation,' so often found in the background of prejudiced children, is lacking in the history of the tolerant child. Only when life is free from intolerable threats, or when these threats are adequately handled with inner strength, can one be at ease with all sorts and conditions of men.

Theodore Adorno The Authoritarian Personality

Using social environmental forces to change the parent's behavior toward the child.

My question is. "How do you change God's behavior (his wrath) toward children of disobedience?" You can not.  To try to do so is the agenda of a fool.  We are the one who must repent, it is not his "duty" to find common ground with us to remove the wrath.  It is because of his love for his truth that the wrath exists against those who refuse to accept and obey his truth. Professing to be wise these agents of change have become fools.  To convince the disobedient children that the parent's office and command does not matter ... "Just wait until dad gets home."

Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine; I will repay, saith the Lord. Romans 12:19

Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you; And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ: Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; 2 Thessalonians 1:6-9

For true and righteous are his judgments: for he hath judged the great whore, which did corrupt the earth with her fornication, and hath avenged the blood of his servants at her hand. And again they said, Alleluia. And her smoke rose up for ever and ever. Revelation 19:2, 3

Mortify therefore your members which are upon the earth; fornication, uncleanness, inordinate affection, evil concupiscence, and covetousness, which is idolatry: For which things' sake the wrath of God cometh on the children of disobedience: In the which ye also walked some time, when ye lived in them. But now ye also put off all these; anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy communication out of your mouth. Colossians 3:5-8
